Between Memory and Stone

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 19, 2026

These terms apply to registration for and attendance of Between Memory and Stone (the conference and the MemoryLab) and to the use of betweenmemoryandstone.com.

1. Organiser

The organiser is Vitsche e.V., Skalitzer Str. 80, 10997 Berlin, Germany (see the Imprint), together with its partners the Pilecki Institute Berlin and Past / Future / Art. The event is non-commercial.

2. Registration and tickets

  • Registration is free of charge but not binding on the organiser: we review each registration and confirm it by email. A registration is accepted only when you receive that confirmation and your ticket.
  • Tickets are personal and not transferable. Your ticket carries a QR code that is scanned at the entrance. Please do not share it; anyone holding the code can use it.
  • Please bring a valid photo ID. We may refuse admission to someone who cannot be matched to a confirmed registration.
  • Places are limited. If you cannot attend, please tell us with the link in your confirmation email so that your place can be given to someone else.

3. The event

The programme, speakers, times and venue can change. We will tell registered guests by email about material changes. The event takes place at the venue and time stated in your confirmation email; please check the venue name carefully.

If the event has to be cancelled or postponed, we will inform you by email. Because attendance is free, no refund arises; further claims are excluded within the limits of section 6.

4. Conduct

We want a respectful space. Discrimination, harassment, hate speech and disrupting the programme are not tolerated. The organisers and the venue's security staff may refuse admission to or remove anyone who does not follow these rules or the instructions of staff, and may cancel their registration. The venue's house rules also apply.

5. Filming, photography and live stream

The event is filmed and photographed and the stage is streamed online. By attending you accept that you may appear in recordings that the organisers and their partners use to document and promote the event. How we handle this, and how to object, is described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Liability

We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under mandatory law such as the Product Liability Act, and where we have given a guarantee. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual duty (one on which you may regularly rely), and then only for the foreseeable damage typical for this type of event. Otherwise liability is excluded. These limits also apply to our staff and helpers. You attend at your own risk and are responsible for your own belongings.

7. Intellectual property

Texts, images, designs and recordings on this site and from the event belong to their authors and organisers. You may not copy or reuse them without permission, except where the law allows.

8. The website

We try to keep the site available and correct but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation. We are not responsible for third-party sites that we link to.

9. Governing law

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country where you live remain unaffected.

10. Changes and severability

We may update these terms before the event; the version shown here with its date applies. If a provision is or becomes invalid, the rest stays in force.
